It is vitally important for an expecting mother to stay in shape. Giving birth requires a tremendous amount of physical stamina.
Regular exercise will help your body prepare for labor while reducing stress levels, relieving some physiological discomforts,
keeping your weight gain steady, and improving your night's sleep.
If your pregnancy is proceeding normally you can probably continue working out
with some modifications. Talk to your doctor or midwife about your fitness
routine to make sure your activities don't put you or your baby at risk for
injury.
